Lot of tweaking to come up with the material for the monster. I think the thing I really wanted from this was to get the translucent shadow thing, and then in this angle you can't even see it. Also, I never learned if there's a 'real' way to do it, mine's kind of a cheat.
This one makes my face big. I used to draw robots like this one all the time.
I'm trying to do the outputs in HD, in case you like any of the stills and want a wallpaper or something. Also, the Box ID from day 8 finished rendering in full quality today! I just wish it were cooler so that all that render time was worth something...

Here's the one that didn't get finished yesterday. The above GIF is from my low-res, low-quality test render that took a mere 41 minutes to output. That'll have to do since my full-res render is only 20% complete after the first 7 hours. These kind of render times leave me feeling equal parts inconvenienced and nostalgic.
I appreciate that the presenter wanted me to learn about different things, but liquid wood is an odd choice.
