12 Shiny Nickels
I will be appearing, at the last minute and at great expense, on 12 Shiny Nickels at the Westside Comedy Theater tonight. I have no doubt that I will see each and every reader of this site in the audience.
Not a front for a secret organization.

This week I wrap up what we might call my first nation-wide comedy tour. Representing the west coast is the Bridgetown Comedy Festival, where I'll be performing at least once a day this Thursday through Saturday.
In North Carolina, I was pretty much on the same show every night in different rooms, so I did mixed up my setlist just for fun. This week, I'm on several different kinds of shows, so I expect I'll be varying the material for more practical reasons. Not least of which is that Portland doesn't actually have a Serpentarium, as far as I know... At least, I hope they don't.
This week I begin what we may as well call my first nation-wide comedy tour. Representing the east coast we have the Cape Fear Comedy Festival, where I'll be performing at least once a day Wednesday through Saturday, show details over on the standup page.
This week we're doing the Green Screen show again at my weekly comedy program, Gangbusters!
All the acts perform in from of a big green wall, and we project the effects live for the audience to see. It's pretty neat, and nobody else does it. Heck, we only do it quarterly, because it's a lot of trouble. Here's a Facebook event about this one.
Please enjoy the above highlight reel from our first Green Screen show back in January.
My pal Mike Upchurch is back with another short film. This time, he's added comic Chris Fairbanks to the movie Cocktail.
I helped out on this one just a little bit, with some advice and notes, and a little bit of animation. The final effect in this video may not be seamless, but knowing how exactly Mike put it together, it's amazing.
The best thing I can say about it? I've seen it at least half a dozen times (occasionally with live audiences) and it truly doesn't feel eleven minutes long.
